Olivia Menghini is a Long Island-based artist and arts professional, serving artists, galleries, public institutions, and private clients. Menghini’s work has been featured in New York and Long Island galleries, the Museum at FIT, and the International Print Center of New York, among others. She has worked with leading industry galleries, institutions, and artists across Long Island and New York City. From 2021 to 2024, Menghini produced over 150 public programs and events as Public Programs Manager and Executive Assistant at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, NY. In this role, she collaborated with curators, educators, leading contemporary artists, scholars, and prominent cultural leaders to develop engaging programs that interpret collections, exhibitions, and topics important to various community groups. Notable collaborations include Hamptons Jazz Fest, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Hamptons Doc Fest, James Beard Foundation, We Are All Human Foundation, Every Mother Counts Foundation, the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, among many others.
Menghini holds a MA in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a BFA in Fine Art from the Fashion Institute of Technology, SUNY. In 2016, she attended the Instituto Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence, Italy, as a study abroad student with a focus on figurative painting and drawing. Her undergraduate thesis exhibition works in Everything Must Go! (2018, The Museum at FIT) focused on a western philosophical narrative toward human rights ethics and the journeys of global refugees and displaced persons in modern society. In 2023, Menghini’s graduate capstone was the Cultural Heritage Management Seminar in Modena, Italy, with Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs. The capstone, a 10-day intensive program, included onsite meetings with museum, cultural and municipal leaders and presentation on tangible/intangible cultural heritage management in museums, national and state parks, religious and UNESCO sites.
As a practicing artist, Menghini has extensive experience in studio art practice, drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Her experience includes to teaching studio art and art history programs for adults, families, teens, and school age children. As a public servant, Menghini has worked with community agencies, families and individuals, and led design teams for a variety of projects, including murals and large indoor and outdoor displays. Menghini’s experience in art galleries and museums includes program development, event management and production, operations management, exhibition development, and extends to donor relations, creating interpretive materials for exhibitions, education initiatives and programming, and a range of visitor experience expertise.
